About the Dual Degree

The objective of this dual degree program is to prepare students for careers in semiconductor engineering, integrated circuit design, microelectronics, and related fields, by providing a strong theoretical and practical foundation that is necessary for careers in various sectors such as engineering consultancy, research, and academia.

Target Group

This program is designed for highly motivated candidates, including fresh graduates and mid-level professionals with a background in Electrical Engineering or related fields, seeking global expertise in semiconductor engineering.

Minimum Admission Requirements

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (normally from a four-year program), or its equivalent.
  • Have undergraduate grades significantly above average; the minimum GPA requirement for admission is 3.0 or equivalent.
  • English proficiency requirement: IELTS 6.5 (writing 6 minimum) or TOEFL IBT: 80 (writing 21-23).

Admission Process

Interested candidates must apply directly to either AIT (Option 1) or Taipei Tech (Option 2) on or before May 30. After submission, a joint selection committee from both institutions will review the applications based on academic merit and program suitability. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview by faculty from both universities. Successful candidates will be jointly admitted to both AIT and Taipei Tech and will begin their studies at the designated institution.

Scholarships & Internship Opportunities

AIT and Taipei Tech offer scholarships and assistantships based on academic performance to help cover tuition and living expenses. Students will also have the opportunity to undertake internships at Delta Electronics (Thailand) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited(TSMC).
