Public Policy Program

Introduction / Background

In a world shaped by geopolitical realignment, strategic competition, democratic pressures, technological disruption, climate risks, economic transformation, demographic change, and widening inequalities, governments and institutions must respond with agility, foresight, and responsibility. These conditions call for policy professionals who can navigate uncertainty while advancing inclusive and sustainable development.

Responding to these realities, the Public Policy academic Program prepares future policy leaders, analysts, and practitioners to address complex global challenges and development transitions. The program provides rigorous training in the foundations and practice of public policy design, negotiations, implementation and evaluation. Students build strong competencies in governance, political economy, law, and policy analysis while engaging with critical domains such as economic development, social policy, labour and employment systems, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, energy transition, and environmental sustainability. Ethics is an important dimension of public policy making. The students will also be trained on communicating policy analysis to decision makers and to the public.

The curriculum equips post graduate students to design and implement effective policies, apply evidence-based analytical tools, evaluate policy impacts, and manage competing priorities in complex environments. Emphasizing a systems perspective, the program prepares graduates to lead across sectors and governance levels, bridging policy, practice, and innovation. Graduates are positioned to assume influential roles across government, international organizations, development institutions, think tanks, and the private sector, shaping policies that advance equitable, resilient, and sustainable futures.
