Project budget- 15.5 million THB

Project location – Indonesia

Donor- Asian Development Bank (ADB)

Project duration – 1 Oct 2020 – 31 Oct 2022

Description- The project aims at developing a geospatial Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) platform to provide information on critical infrastructure reconstruction, building, ground movements, and other information needed for reconstruction monitoring. Freely available Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data from the Sentinel-1 satellite of the European Space Agency (ESA) have been used for millimetric-level measurements using InSAR and PS-InSAR techniques. Project activities include.

  • Measuring and monitoring the stability of buildings, roads, and other infrastructures on a monthly basis and spanning over a period of 20 months using SAR data.
  • Measuring and monitoring liquefaction and landslide areas with a resolution of 5-20 meters on a monthly basis and spanning over a period of 20 months using SAR data.
  • Characterize the land stability or movements and generate regular statistics of reconstruction and rehabilitation of buildings and infrastructures such as irrigation canals using SAR and Very High Resolution (VHR) optical data.
  • Capacity building in relevant national agencies in Indonesia (PUSTADIN-MPWH, LAPAN, BNPB, BIG, BKMG, and Geological Agency) in using SAR and VHR data for reconstruction monitoring.
