The Youth Energy Academy (YEA) introduces young people from diverse backgrounds to the basic actionable skills and know-how needed to become agents of change in the renewable energy transition. With a balanced emphasis on theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the YEA model uses collaborative or Do-it-Together (DiT) approaches for distributed and community-led solutions, harnessing young people’s creativity and fearlessness to undertake inspired action. The YEA is itself the result of youth-led collaboration. It is an innovative and disruptive learning program open to everyone interested in renewable energy, despite their previous knowledge or practical experience in the subject.
