AIT has implemented several initiatives to increase access to education and employment for underrepresented groups, showcasing their commitment to diversity and inclusion. For example, as an equal-opportunity employer, AIT is committed to non-discriminatory hiring practices, providing equal consideration for employment regardless of race, gender, religion, or disability status, which supports a diverse and inclusive workforce. More details on these employment policies are outlined in AIT’s “Work at AIT” section, which you can explore https://ait.ac.th/opportunities/
Additionally, projects like TEAL2.O highlight AIT’s dedication to expanding access to higher education for resource-poor regions. This initiative provides an open learning platform to support science and technology education for underrepresented and disadvantaged communities, primarily in Asia. Learn more about the TEAL2.O initiative on the AIT website https://teal.cs.ait.ac.th/
AIT has been promoting itself through various online and onsite roadshows and visits to countries such as Afghanistan, Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and the Philippines for student recruitment. The institute’s outreach efforts across these regions reflect its commitment to building an inclusive and globally diverse academic community. AIT upholds its commitment to a harmonious, respectful, and inclusive community through our Policy and Procedures and Student Handbook on Harassment, Abuse, and Discrimination. Guided by five fundamental principles, every member, including trustees, faculty, staff, students, and outreach program participants, is expected to foster an environment of equality and respect. AIT strictly prohibits all forms of harassment, abuse, and discrimination, addressing issues like sexual harassment, bullying, and abuse of supervisory authority. We emphasize the significance of confidentiality, ensuring that individuals reporting violations are protected without fear of reprisal. Our comprehensive approach includes both informal methods, such as consultations and direct communication, and formal grievance procedures. A dedicated grievance committee, appointed by the President, ensures fair investigations and recommendations, respecting the privacy of all involved parties. AIT’s commitment to these policies ensures a secure and inclusive atmosphere for everyone in our diverse community.
