The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) actively supports the SDGs across its schools and departments by offering 726 courses that align with various SDG targets. Here is an overview of the key contributions by SDG goals and school:

  • Top SDG Contributions:
    • SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals): AIT’s strongest alignment, with 226 courses focused on fostering global partnerships for sustainable development.
    • SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): A close second, with 114 courses dedicated to sustainable urbanization and community resilience.
    • SDG 13 (Climate Action): A significant focus, supported by 96 courses addressing climate resilience and environmental sustainability.
  • School Contributions:
    • The School of Environment, Resources, and Development (SERD) leads with 361 courses supporting a range of SDGs, reflecting its commitment to environmental stewardship, resource management, and sustainable development.
    • The School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and School of Management (SOM) also contribute with robust offerings, though in more specialized domains.
  • Department Contributions:
    • The Department of Development and Sustainability (DS) provides the highest contribution among departments, with 181 courses targeting various SDGs, particularly those centered on sustainable development.
    • Conversely, the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE) makes a more focused contribution, offering 10 courses related to specific SDGs.
