The Institute currently offers 35 academic programs. For details, please visit our School websites:\u00a0School of Engineering and Technology (SET)<\/a>,\u00a0School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD)<\/a>, and\u00a0School of Management (SOM).<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n 2 Year Master’s Degree students normally study for 22 months (enrolled in August Intake) and 24 months (enrolled in January Intake) which includes four semesters, two short breaks and one long break between semesters. Doctoral students study for at least 42 months or seven semesters. 1-year Master, Professional Master Program and the Diploma Programs are at least 12 months or two semesters and the Certificate Program is 5 months or one semester.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n Yes, we have academic exchange programs with various partner universities in Asia and Europe. AIT has a limited number of scholarships to assist our students to go on academic exchange. You can apply for an academic exchange program and the scholarship in your second semester of study at AIT.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n Yes, AIT provides the option to graduate with a minor. Starting from the August 2020 semester, AIT offers a “Minor in Entrepreneurship”. More minors will be added in 2021. There are no additional cost in pursuing a minor. A total of 12 credits in the minor program are required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n Yes, AIT is an English speaking campus. All communication is in English, more details under FAQ number 5 under the requirements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n Unified Programs integrate undergraduate studies with graduate studies into a seamless “Unified” program. For example, undergraduate students\u00a0may join AIT\u00a0in their final year to complete\u00a0their undergraduate degree\u00a0and at the same time start their Master program at AIT. AIT has several Unified programs with our partner universities managed by our\u00a0Office of Special Degree Program<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n You do not need to apply separately for the scholarships. Once you have submitted the application online, your will be automatically considered for all scholarships for which the deadline has not expired and for which you are eligible. The type and amount of scholarship given to applicants is on a competitive basis with the main criteria of academic standing. Should you wish to be considered for full scholarships, you must submit an Official English score of 6 including writing and overall that is not older than 2 years. Thus, please apply using the\u00a0Online Application System<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n Your referees should be well acquainted with your intellectual abilities, academic performance, and personal character. Only applicants for the doctoral degree program must submit at least 2 recommendation letters; no recommendation letters are required for master degree programs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n Applicants from selected countries will be called for interview. The School will contact you directly for the arrangement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n No. As the application assessment varies from each intake, your application in the next intake must be as competitive as those with others applying in that same intake.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n Yes, all AIT programs are conducted in English; thus, you will need to provide proof of adequate English language proficiency. There are three ways to provide proof of adequate English language proficiency.<\/p>\n If your submitted certificate is not acceptable, we will inform you immediately. In this case, you are required to submit an English score of AIT-approved tests (See Number 3 below<\/em>).<\/p>\n Students with good academic records with lower scores may receive \u201cconditional admission\u201d. They will be required to attend English classes at AIT until their scores improve.\u00a0Please see the test score comparison table\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Those\u00a0who are\u00a0interested in applying\u00a0but do not meet the minimum English proficiency requirements for admission or conditional admission are recommended to study English in their home countries until they are ready to re-apply.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n The Language Center (LC) offers a 90-minute in-house test of English proficiency called the AIT English Entry Test (EET). The score is based on a nine-point scale similar to the IELTS test. The Writing score, which is the most important at AIT, is based on an essay. The test result will be e-mailed within 7 days. The LC will report the test result to the AIT Admissions only if the score is satisfactory for provisional admission. If applicants fail to obtain the minimum score requirements for admission, they may take the test again.<\/p>\n There is no limit to the number of times they can take the test, but we encourage applicants to study and improve their English before retesting. This will be a condition for registration for dissertation \/ thesis \/ research study \/ project.<\/p>\n Students with AWPT score below 6.0 are required to take mandatory English Language (EL) courses at the AIT Language Center until they meet the English language requirements. Students who wish to attend English courses outside AIT in lieu of the EL courses need to seek prior approval of the Language Center before the start of the program and need to provide proof of attendance.<\/p>\n I obtained a degree at a university at which English is the sole medium of instruction. Can I submit a certificate, in place of English Test score?<\/p>\n You can submit the ‘Certificate of English Medium of Instruction’ issued by the Registry Office of your previous institute. We do reserve the rights to accept or reject such certificate based on our extensive list of recognized certificates of English medium of instruction. Alternatively, you can take\u00a0AIT EET test on campus or online. However, should you wish to be considered for full scholarships, you must submit an English test score that is not older than 2 years. \nThe AWPT consists of two tasks. The first is a description of data (75-100 words), and the second is an essay (250 \u2013 350 words). These two tasks are scored on a nine point scale.
