September 29, 2022 – Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)’s Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) program, under the School of Management (SOM), has been ranked #1 in Thailand and #21 in Asia in the latest QS Global MBA Rankings 2023, released on September 29. The program has also been ranked #10 in Asia and #71-80 in Career Specialization Rankings 2023: Entrepreneurship.

With this, the program maintains its No. 1 rank in Thailand for three consecutive years. Featuring over 300 MBA programs globally in 47 countries, the prestigious QS Global MBA Rankings 2023 shows the leading MBA programs of the best academic institutions.

The QS rankings are based on five indicators: Employability, Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes, Return on Investment, Thought Leadership, and Class and Faculty Diversity. In addition to the overall ranking, AIT’s MBA  ranked #7 in Asia and #72 in the World in the “Class & Faculty Diversity” indicator.

Talking about the recognition, AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto noted,  “SOM focuses on creating future leaders, and we are happy that we have established a reputation in the global arena. This is a proud moment for all AIT staff, faculty, students, and alumni.”

“Our achievement in the QS Global MBA Rankings in the past three years is built on the diversity of students and faculty, which has been a hallmark of the program since it was launched over 30 years ago,” said Dr. Roger Levermore, Dean of AIT SOM.

“What makes AIT’s MBA program especially strong in 2022 is the continual updating of topical content and courses and growing links with businesses who provide internships and jobs. In addition, the program operates on a successful combination of dynamic adjunct faculty, often at the executive level, with respected academics, provides students with choices to specialize in various fields such as entrepreneurship and digital transformation, and places high emphasis on flex-mode teaching,” he added. Various programs like Risk Management, Digital Transformation, ESG, and International Finance launched last year.

Designed to equip students with effective, practical tools to tackle complex, real-life business challenges, AIT SOM’s interdisciplinary program combines elements from operations management, economics, finance, strategy, marketing, leadership, and other management fields. In addition, SOM encourages participatory learning and uses various interactive learning methodologies to educate students on the latest management concepts, techniques, and tools. It further aims to create the strategic leaders of tomorrow’s corporate future within the scope of the pan-Asian and global arenas.
