The AIT Board of Trustees reflects the international character of AIT and is made up of representatives of current partner governments and international organizations, as well as prominent individuals. The Board has approved the following recent appointments to the Board and Executive Committee.
Board of Trustees
Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand
Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit succeeded Mrs. Chulamaneee Chartsuwan as Deputy Permanent Secretary supervising the Department of International Organizations since November 2022 and has also been designated as the Ministry’s representative to the AIT Board of Trustees.
H.E. Mr. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India
Ambassador Singh has succeeded H.E. Ms. Suchitra Durai as the Ambassador of India to Thailand. Before being appointed as Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Nagesh Singh was Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of External Affairs from July 2018 to October 2022. During his diplomatic career, served as Consul General of India in Atlanta (June 2015 – June 2018); Joint Secretary/Officer on Special Duty to the Vice President of India (September 2012 – June 2015); Director (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran) in the Ministry of External Affairs (February 2010– August 2012); Counsellor (UN Administrative & Budgetary Affairs) in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York (June 2006 – February 2010); Private Secretary to the Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India (June 2003 – May 2006) and Under Secretary (Pakistan) in the Ministry of External Affairs (September 2002 – May 2003). He has also served as Second Secretary in Embassy of India in Dakar (Republic of Senegal), with concurrent accreditation to Cape Verde, Guinea, Bissau, Mali, Mauritania and The Gambia (July 2000 to August 2002) and Third/Second Secretary, Embassy of India in Paris (June 1997 – June 2000). He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1995. Mr. Nagesh Singh did his B.A. (Hons) in Economics from University of Delhi and Master’s in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
Dr. Bindu N. Lohani
Dr. Lohani is a former Ranking Vice-President, Asian Development Bank (ADB) for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development, and prior to that Vice President for Finance & Administration. He is an inductee of the AIT Hall of Fame 2020 and has served in the past as member on both AIT Board of Trustees and Executive Committee as well as in various positions at AIT, including being a faculty member and Division Chairman. Currently, Dr. Lohani is a Distinguished Fellow of The Centennial Group, and the Emerging Markets Forum, USA and serves on several Boards and Advisory Roles in several countries including Japan, Korea, Philippines, Nepal, Singapore, and USA. He is a member (foreign) of US National Academy of Engineers ( NAE).
Executive Committee
Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai
Professor Worsak holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1978 under Fulbright Scholarship. He joined the AIT in 1979, retired as AIT President in 2018 and is currently AIT Emeritus Professor. He returned from his retirement in 2019 to serve as the Founding Executive Director of a specially established Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (ScII) with unique curriculum to groom talents for the changing world of digital era. Professor Worsak was inducted into the Royal Society of Thailand’s Academy of Science in 2016, the AIT Hall of Fame in 2019 and Chulalongkorn Engineers Hall of Fame in 2022. Professor Worsak is currently a Founding Council Member and Chairman of the Academic Committee of Vidhya Sirimedhi Institute of Technology (VISTEC). He also serves as University Council Member of King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and Huachiew Chalermprakiat University (HCU).
