March 20, 2023 – The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Ajeenkya D Y Patil University (ADYPU), India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a period of five years. The MoU aims to facilitate cooperation between the two institutions to promote interest in research, teaching, training, and consultancy activities.
The agreement covers a wide range of activities, including the development of an International Unified Bachelor’s-Master’s Degree Program, enrolment of ADYPU students in AIT’s regular Master’s and Doctoral degree programs, exchange of graduate students and faculty members, conducting joint projects, research, and consultancy projects, support joint startups of students, arrangement of joint seminars, events and joint publications and patents.
President Kazuo Yamamoto of AIT expressed his interest in learning more about ADYPU and exploring areas of collaboration. “I find this collaboration very intriguing, and I am optimistic that we will have a productive partnership. Given the current trend in education, I believe we can work together to achieve better outcomes,” he added.
Mr. Raymond Paul, the Registrar of ADYPU, expressed his delight at the collaboration and mentioned associating with AIT will add value and help ADYPU grow as a brand. He was accompanied by Prof. Vijayakumar Varadarajan, Dean of the International Division from ADYPU.
From AIT, the event was attended by Prof. Dieter Trau, Dean at the School of Engineering and Technology and Director, AIT Entrepreneurship Center; Prof. Nitin K. Tripathi, Professor, RS-GIS/SET and Director, Office of Special Degree Program; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director of International Affairs, and Mr. Sanjeet Amatya, Director of Public Affairs from the Office of International and Public Affairs.
