SERD Faculties receive Appointment
and Award

SERD Faculty, Dr. Ajit P. Annachhatre, Associate Professor, Urban Environmental Engineering Program (UEEM), was recently appointed member of the RESB (Re/Views in Environmental Science and Bio/Technology) advisory board by Piet Lens, Editor in Chief. RESB is a well known international journal issued by Wageningen University and published by Kluwer Academic Publishers, The Netherlands.

said Prof Chongrak Polprasert, Dean SERD. ‘This appointment is a recognition of your academic and professional achievements – an honor to you, SERD and AIT, and a good promotion for us. May I wish you continued success in this endeavour.’

In a related related development, Dr. Sudip K. Rakshit, Faculty, Food & Bioprocess Technology Program, SERD receives the following award and appointments:

A Biotechnology Excellence award from the American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS) for a
research paper collaborated by him and Mr. Monzur Md. Hossen, one of his students. The award will be given in AOCS’s forthcoming annual meeting.

Dr. Sudip was nominated the Secretary General of the Asian Association of Agricultural Engineers (AAAE) starting January 2002. As part of this function he will be editing the bimonthly AAAE Newsletter. He have been nominated too, as a member of the American Chemical Society
(ACS). ACS is an esteemed society which covers the broad area of chemistry including chemical engineering, biochemistry and bioprocess engineering.

In his congratulatory message, Prof Chongrak Polprasert, Dean SERD said ‘AIT and SERD have to thrive based on quality of the faculty and research outputs. What you have done are a great service to us all, which I am most grateful for. May I wish you continued success in this endeavor.’
