1 June 2023 – Dr. Naveed Anwar has been appointed Senior Advisor to the President at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), effective 1 June. Dr. Anwar will lead the preparatory committee for the Virtual School of Practice in this new role.
Having served as the Vice President for Knowledge Transfer (VPKT) from April 2019 to May 2023, Dr. Naveed brings experience and expertise to this new position.
Dr. Naveed has a long association with AIT; he obtained his Master’s degree in 1988 and Ph.D. in 2004 in Structural Engineering at AIT. He has also held positions as Executive Director of AIT Solutions and Affiliated Faculty in Structural Engineering. His responsibilities included outreach, consulting, and developing solutions in collaboration with the business sector, focusing on AIT’s core strengths and innovative areas.
