Dr. Roger Levermore assumes the Role of Vice President for Development at the Asian Institute of Technology

1 June 2023 – Dr. Roger Levermore has been appointed Vice President for Development (VPD) at the Asian Institute of Technology effective from 1 June. 

Following the approval of the AIT Board of Trustees, Dr. Levermore will serve as the VPD for two years. He will oversee the Institute’s business development strategies and initiatives in his new position. These include building partnerships with international institutions, developing customized programs, and contributing to creating a Virtual School of Practice. Dr. Levermore’s primary objectives will focus on boosting revenue growth, enhancing AIT’s visibility and reputation, and expanding the Institute’s market presence.

With over two decades of experience as a senior university administrator and faculty member, Dr. Levermore brings international experience to his new role. He previously served as the Dean of AIT’s School of Management (SOM) and an Associate Professor of Management Practice. His educational background includes a Ph.D. from the University of Plymouth, an MA in International Politics from the University of Hull, UK, and a BA from the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK. Dr. Levermore has taught and conducted research across various disciplines ranging from leadership, strategy, ethics, and sports management. 

Before joining AIT, Dr. Levermore held prominent positions in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. He was the Head of Bachelor’s and MBA programs in the UK from 2005 to 2010 and in Hong Kong from 2012 to 2019. Additionally, Dr. Levermore has worked at prestigious universities such as the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2018-2019), the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2012-2018), and the University of Liverpool (2001-2012). During the transitional period of the SOM leadership, Dr. Levermore will concurrently assume the roles of the VPD and 50% of the Dean of SOM’s responsibilities.
